The standard states:

• methods for determining sound insulation (insulation of airborne noise) of window and door blocks in laboratory and in natural conditions, including requirements for preparation, installation, test conditions and operation of the tested products, as well as requirements for the determined values ​​and additional information included in the test report;
• rules for determining single-digit evaluation parameters based on the results of measurements of sound insulation of window and door blocks, performed in one-third octave frequency bands.

The methods specified in this standard are applied when carrying out type, certification and other periodic laboratory tests, as well as when assessing the sound insulation of window blocks in natural conditions. It is intended for use by organizations accredited in accordance with the established procedure for measuring the sound insulation of building structures and their elements.
