GOST 24468-2020 establishes a method for determining the apparent density and total porosity of refractory heat-insulating products with a total porosity of at least 45%.

The essence of the method consists in measuring the linear dimensions and calculating the volume of a rectangular parallelepiped sample and weighing it. Based on the results obtained, the apparent density of the sample and, taking into account the density of the material, the total porosity are calculated.
